Parking device with two platforms to accommodate parked motor vehicles

The parking device has two platforms which accommodate parked motor vehicles, and which are mounted so that they can pivot about one end, in order for each to be connected to a common drive (2). A synchronising shaft (15) runs transversely, adjacent to the latter, and at each end is connected to one platform by transmission elements. When the lower platform (7) is joined to the drive, the shaft bridges the gap between the latter and the platform, and supports the upper platform when the latter is joined to the drive. The shaft is eccentric to its axis of rotation, so that its upper edge is positioned lower when the upper platform is joined to the drive, than when the lower platform is connected. It may also have a circular cross section and an eccentric mounting.
