<p>Nontilting rail (18, 41, 61) has a flat, smooth bottom. In two versions, holes (31, 42) receive ladder cords. In one of these, hole (37) extends obliquely into intersection with the transverse hole. Vertical hole (36) extends down from the rail top to this intersection. Lift cord (33) extends into the oblique hole to a stop knot (33K). In Figs. 6-12 horizontal hole (43) above each ladder cord hole receives a lift cord (47) which extends out the front (41F) and rear (41R) of the bottom rail. Lift and ladder cords, extend up to headrail (14). Each slat (51) has notch (52F, 52R) at the front edge (51F) and rear edge (51R), receiving the corresponding lift cord and ladder cord. When the blind is closed, notches are covered by the next adjacent slat. Supplemental slat (51D) Fig. 17 under the bottom slat has deeper notches (51N). When the blind is closed, the supplemental slat contacts the bottom rail. Decorative ladder tapes (62F, 62R) Figs. 13-16 fastened to the front (61F) and the rear (61R) faces of bottom rail (61) hide the lift cords.</p> |
