A suspension device for a stirrer guided on a guide element, especially for use in mixing and cultivation tanks or pump reservoirs, consists of a holder, which is positioned on the stirrer and which engages about the guide element, and a support device which supports the weight of the stirrer in the working position. The novelty is that the holder (2) and the support device (5) have corresponding guide faces (8, 8', 9, 9') in the form of cooperating clamping slopes which engage to produce play-free clamping in the working position of the stirrer (1).
