<p>A method for use in assessing whether a subject is likely to be at risk of developing a psychotic disorder, such as schizophrenia, bipolar altective disorder or unipolar depression, the method comprising testing for and detecting the presence or absence of DNA encoding the 10- and/or 12-repeat alleles of the VNTR on the hSERT gene in a biological sample obtained from said subject. The claimed invention also concerns a cell-line and a transgenic animal expressing the 10- and/or 12-repeat.</p> |
