The panel is used in concrete shuttering, and is formed from a base panel (12) which is made from wood, a wooden composite, or a material which is similar to wood, and whose shape is roughly rectangular. At least one corner region of the panel is completely covered by an edge protector (40), which is made from a hard synthetic material, such as polyurethane. In the corner region, the curve (20,22) of the edge surfaces of the panel which lies in a central section of the latter, is set back relative to the roughly 90 degree corner which would otherwise be there. The corner curve may also be in the form of a bevel (22), which preferably runs at an angle of 135 degrees to each of the edges (20) which lead to the corner.
