<p>A method for the active control of sound radiated in a duct (1) comprising sensing sound from an array (4) of sensors located on the inside surface of a flow duct and controlling an array (3) of secondary sources (loudspeakers) so as to minimize sound radiated in the far field. This is done by controlling the sound sources so as to minimize a cost function. Depending on whether total sound power or sound power towards the sideline is to be reduced, different cost functions are used by the method.</p> |
