The fork lift truck can have a largely vertical rotary axis for the drivers seat support. There is a footrest arranged on the drivers seat for the drivers feet. The rotary axis of the drivers seat (8) is offset closer to the foot well to give a reduced spacing from it as regards to the drivers seat. In the footwell cavity is at least one pedal (10a-c). The rotary axis (11) is in the region of the footwell. The maximum pivot angle of the drivers seat is 90 degrees or less.
