Edge finishing machine with interchangeable tools

The tool unit (5,6) fitted with the tool (5) and the suction hood (14) supported by same are moved from a lower work position into an upper transfer position. After the hood is locked on the machine stand (1) the tool unit is separated from the hood and moved back into a lower position from where it is then moved into a side tool exchange position. After the tool exchange, the tool unit is moved back again in two displacement steps into the transfer position where it takes up the suction hood. After the hood is unlocked from the machine stand the tool unit is moved with the hood hanging on same back down into the work position. Locking is automatically activated when the hood reaches the upper transfer position and is automatically released when the tool unit returns to the upper transfer position after tool exchange.
