PURPOSE: To uniaxially or pseudo-isotropically laminate in a structure with transparency and substantially excellent tensile characteristics by hot pressing warps of filaments melt extruded from a polymer for optically forming an anisotropic melt at a temperature and a pressure sufficient to form a bound transparent sheet. CONSTITUTION: Warps of filaments melt extruded from a polymer for optically forming an anisotropic melt are hot pressed at a temperature and a pressure sufficient to form an aggregated transparent sheet. The using temperature is a lower temperature by 20 deg.C or less than a melt heat absorbing temperature and the using pressure is at least 100 lbs per square inch. The hot pressed sheet is heated to be strengthened for a sufficient time to increase a tensile strength in a warp direction at a lower temperature than the melting point in a purging inert atmosphere. |
