<p>PURPOSE:To contrive the reduction of a fluctuation of the picture element potential, while preventing the drop of an effective voltage of a picture element by providing an offset level which has been set below a threshold voltage of a liquid crystal as a non-lighting level in a picture signal supplied to a signal line electrode of a liquid crystal display panel, on both positive and negative electrodes. CONSTITUTION:In a holding period in which a picture element holds a negative lighting level, a non-lighting level given to a signal line electrode has an offset -OFV. Accordingly, even in case of having an OFF resistance value of a TFT (thin film transistor) which is set to an OFF state, a voltage applied to a drain and a source of the TFT can be reduced by an offset level portion, and a leak current becomes small, therefore, the level drop of a holding voltage PXV of the negative polarity can be prevented, and an effective voltage can be made high. Also, in a negative holding period, a positive lighting level supplied to a picture element placed in other scanning line electrode becomes a voltage -V whose amplitude has become small by an offset voltage -OFV. In such a way, by coupling between the drain and the source in the TFT being in an OFF state, a noise transmitted to a picture element PX side can be reduced, and the fluctuation of the potential of the holding voltage PXV can be reduced.</p> |
