The invention relates to a process for optimizing the growth of fish reared in a pond. For that, oxygen is injected into the pond in a controlled quantity, preferably in a quantity which is higher during the day than at night and preferably in a quantity which is even higher during the fish meal period. According to a preferred embodiment, ozone will also be injected so as to eliminate the viruses and bacteria which might be present in the pond water.
