PURPOSE:To make effective orifice length alterable by using an electroviscous fluid, while installing plural pieces of an orifice, leading to a fluid chamber, in the point midway in an interconnecting passage interconnecting two fluid chambers, and installing a plus-minus pair of electrodes in these slits. CONSTITUTION:An interconnecting passage (orifice) 6 interconnecting two fluid chambers is installed in substrates 5a, 5b partitioning off these fluid chambers, and plural pieces of a slit 7 leading to a fluid chamber are installed in the point midway in this interconnecting passage. A plus-minus pair of electrodes 8a, 8b are installed at both sides of an opening of the slit 7, while positive electrodes 8a are connected to a power source independently each, and both are made individually impressible with voltage. The slit 7 is installed as being tilted to the interconnecting passage in order to facilitate the flow of electroviscous fluid. With this constitution, the number of slits 7 being closed in pressing a high voltage is altered, whereby effective orifice length is alterable and a pressure loss of the fluid in the interconnecting passage 6 is alterable as well with proper voltage impression. |
