System for balancing a vehicle wheel

The system determines the imbalance of the wheel (14) in two planes and uses attached weights for compensating the imbalance forces, one of the weights being attached in the vertical position of the wheel and the other in the horizontal position. The wheel is held in the vertical position via a clamp (12) which can pivot through 90 deg. to bring the weight into the horizontal position, with successive balancing of the wheel in each position of the clamp.
