PURPOSE:To provide the subject oil containing dimethylsiloxane as constituent unit, having a specific kinematic viscosity, containing lowest possible amount of low-molecular weight component and useful as a mold-releasing agent for hot-roll fixing of electrophotography capable of giving a high-quality image over a long period. CONSTITUTION:The objective dimethylsilicone oil composed of dimethyl-siloxane as constituent unit has a kinematic viscosity of 30-60,000cst and contains <=300ppm of fraction having molecular weight of <=2,000. The content of the fraction having a molecular weight of <=2,000 in the above silicone oil can be reduced to <=300ppm by heating the dimethylsilicone oil at 150 deg.C for >=24hr under vigorous agitation to evaporate the component having molecular weight of <=2,000. |
