Method for representing subscriber's individual data when transmitting signalling signals and information signals between narrow band networks and ATM-networks

To implement modern office communications, ISDN networks and ATM networks are integrated together. The transfer between the two networks is performed via so-called interworking units (IWU). In order to be able to represent the individual data of subscribers connected to the ISDN communications systems in the respective terminals of the ATM network (BB), the subscriber number of a calling narrowband communications terminal (SBTLN) of an ISDN communications system is transmitted in the D channel to the interworking unit (IWU) where it is assembled into a packet together with the other signalling information transmitted from this narrowband communications terminal (SBTLN) into the information parts of cells. The cells are then transmitted via the ATM network (BB) to the respective terminating subscriber. The cell packets are dismantled once more in the terminal of this terminating subscriber and a database containing subscriber-specific data is addressed depending on the subscriber number. The corresponding subscriber's inividual data can then be displayed on the respective ATM terminal (ATMTLN).
