The shielding device comprises a rectangular sheet-metal frame (1) with longitudinal sheets (2, 3) and transverse sheets (4), which are connected to the longitudinal sheets as near as possible to the upper edge and the lower edge of the said longitudinal sheets and, like the latter, are fastened on a circuit board (5) by means of press-in pins (6), so that an intrinsically stable centring strip for cable connectors which can be plugged in next to one another is formed.
