The invention in essence concerns a process for producing demineralised sterile water from drinking water. The process is characterised by the fact that the drinking water is drawn through a strongly acidic monospherical cation exchanger, then through a weakly basic monospherical anion exchanger, and finally through a strongly basic monospherical anion exchanger. The invention also concerns a device for carrying out the process.
