Multiplexed packet switched signals from a maximum of 411 channels are transmitted to the area receiver stations (4). From the area receiver, fibre optical cables carry the signals to local distribution points (5). From the local distribution points the signals are taken to the channel selection points (6). Each selection point feeds several district centres (7). In the district centres, the signals are converted into electrical form and transmitted via coaxial cables (11) to the group amplifier units (8). Individual subscribers (10) are connected to the group unit via the final electrical amplifier units.
