REPRODUCING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR STORAGE VIDEO DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing device and a method for stored video data reproducing the video data stored with a format based on the International Telecommunication Union Telecommunication standardization sector (ITU-T) recommendations H.261. SOLUTION: A magnetic disk storage device 12 reads and outputs video data stored in a storage medium storing video data with the format based on the ITU-T recommendations H.261. A picture start code(PSC) detection section 26 receives video data 48 to detect the picture start code included in the video data 48 and denoting the start of the video data for each frame and sets a PSC detection flag 30 to a high level. A reproduction control section 28 outputs video data 56 externally when receiving the PSC detection flag and an instruction to output video data externally and stops output of the video data 56 externally when receiving the PSC detection flag and an instruction of stopping external output of the video data.
