SILICONE RUBBER, SILICONE RUBBER PARTICLE, PRECURSOR FOR CARBON FIBER, AND CARBON FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain silicone rubber particles having a small size which could not been easily obtained in the prior art and which are usable for producing carbon fibers of a high strength. SOLUTION: Substantially spherical silicone rubber particles having an average diameter of not larger than 1μm are obtained by curing an uncured silicone containing an amino-modified silicone or/and an epoxymodified silicone by irradiation with electron beams. The silicone rubber particles are attached to the surfaces of fibers to obtain a precursor for carbon fibers, and this precursor is burned to obtain carbon fibers having a high strength.
