PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound modified by specific surface treatment, low in toxicity and shock ignitability, thus useful as a component of gas generators for air bags. SOLUTION: This compound is obtained by surface treatment of (B) biscarbamoyl hydrazine by a conventional means with (A) an inorganic surface treating agent [pref. a water-soluble metal salt, such as AlCl3 , NaAlO2 , FeCl2 or FeCl3 , among others, esp. pref. NaAlO2 ]. The amount of the component A to be used is 0.01-5wt.% or so (pref. 0.1-2.0wt.% or so) based on the whole amount of the component B. The other objective gas generator for air bags contains, an active ingredients, the modified biscarbamoyl hydrazine thus obtained and an oxidizing agent. |
