PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized polishing device suitable for finishing and polishing work for a workpiece having the indefinite shape. SOLUTION: A polishing device is provided with a polishing tool provided with a polisher 11 uniformly contains magnetic particles 12, and electromagnets 50 for applying magnetic field for applying force to the magnetic particles 12. The electromagnets 50 and the polishing tool are so arranged that magnetic filed in the specified direction may be applied to the periphery of the polishing tool. This polisher 11 is deformed by force to be applied to the magnetic particles 12 by the magnetic field applied to the electromagnets 50. Accordingly, the curvature and polishing pressure of the working surface of the polisher 11 can be freely changed according to the curvature of the front surface shape of the workpiece by changing the shapes of iron cores 52a, 52b and controlling the electric current to be allowed to flow to coils 51a, 5b of the electromagnets 50 during polishing work. |
