PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst high in catalytic activity and keeping stable activity over a long period of time by dispersing a metal component having catalytic activity in a high-molecular polymer and subjecting this high molecular polymer to heat treatment. SOLUTION: A metal component having catalytic activity such as platinic chloride or gold chloride is dispersed in a high-molecular polymer such as an epoxy resin or a polyester resin and the high-molecular polymer having the metal component dispersed therein is heat-treated to be pyrolyzed to obtain a porous carrier 1. As a result, the mutual action of metal fine particles 2 and the carrier becomes large and the movement or flocculation of metal fine particles 2 becomes hard to generate and metal fine particles 2 keep an initial particle size. Therefore, stable catalytic activity is kept over a long period of time and catalytic activity is also enhanced. |
