PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery excellent in cycle characteristics by specifying a spacing on a predetermined plane, a crystal size in a c-axial direction, a diameter, a specific surface and a spin density of a carbon material used. SOLUTION: A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a positive electrode formed of a lithium-containing composite oxide, a negative electrode made of a carbon material, and an electrolyte containing a lithium salt in an organic mixture solvent composed of ethylene carbonate, propylene carbonate and d002 carbonate. I this case, the carbon material has a spacing d002 on a (002) plane of 0.337nm or smaller, a crystal size in a c-axial, direction of 60nm or greater, a diameter of 1μm or greater, a specific surface of 3m<2> /g or less by a BET method, and a spin density of 8×10<8> spins/g or less by electron spin resonance. |
