PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ink-jet recording paper which is characterized by its high image density even in a recording method using a high resolution ink-jet printer, no bleeding of images such as characters, good water resistance to prevent ink elution, and almost no powder falling and a recording method. SOLUTION: In an ink-jet recording paper in which a coating layer containing pigment is formed on base paper consisting mainly of wood pulp, the coating layer is formed by applying coating liquid containing 20-40 pts.wt. of polyvinyl alcohol and/or silanol-modified polyvinyl alcohol and 40-90 pts.wt. of polyamide- polyamine epichlorohydrin per 100 pts.wt. of synthetic amorphous silica. Besides, the coating liquid additionally contains 5 pts.wt. or more of dialkyl sulfosuccinic acid per 100 pts.wt. of synthetic amorphous silica. Using the ink-jet recording paper, a recording image is made by an ink-jet printer of 180-720 DIP resolution. |
