RAILWAY VEHICLE WHEELSETS SELF-ALIGNMENT DEVICE

摘要

FIELD: railway transport; rolling stock bogies; self-alignment of wheelsets when negotiating curved sections of road. SUBSTANCE: device for self-alignment of wheelsets of railway vehicles consisting of axle box and two hinge carriers installed between axle box and bogie frame has carriers with rubber-and-metal bearing at one side and articulated bearing at other side. It has also end face bushings with taper holes limiting turning of shaft in articulated bearing and provided with outer spherical surface; end face stops with inner taper surface engaging with outer spherical surface of end face bushings and split lockwashers to fix end face stops on shaft. EFFECT: provision of radial alignment of wheelset negotiating curved sections of road without use of special radial alignment mechanism, reduced wear of wheel flanges and side surfaces of rail heads owing to reduction of side forces acting onto wheelset.
