INSULATING CONNECTION OF CV CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the insulating connection of CV cables which can enhance the insulating performance of an edge cut section and at the same time can unify a process from projection through crosslinking. SOLUTION: CV cables 1A, 1B are preliminarily covered with outside semiconductor layer compacts 20. The outside semiconductor layer compacts 20 have a shape of a cone-like pipe having air vent holes 200 which pass through in the diameter direction of themselves. The shrinked diameter ends of the compacts 20 are airtightly fastened onto CV cable outside semiconductive layers 2 and the expanded diameter ends face to each other, being away from each other, for edge cut setting. Then, a die is set from the outside and unbridged polyethylene is pushed out into the preheated die to fill the inside of the outside semiconductive layer compacts 20 and the edge cut section with the polyethylene. By this method, a reinforcing insulator 10 and the edge cut section are formed into an integral body with the inside air being expelled out through the air bent holes 200 of the outside semiconductive layer compacts 20 and then the die is heated to crosslink the reinforcing insulator 10 and the edge cut section without conducting a cooling process.
