PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the image processing unit with a simple configuration in which images of all frames in a compressed image signals reproduced at a multiple (n) speed are displayed. SOLUTION: An input signal equivalent to n-frame received from a multiple (n) speed reproduction signal input terminal 105 is given to a signal selection circuit group 101, from which rough image information of each frame is selectively passed and stored in a rough image information memory group 102, after the image is read in the order suitable for screen display under the control of a rough image information control circuit 103 and an image signal processing circuit 104 is used to process the signal suitable for the display, the processed signal is outputted from an image signal output terminal 106.
