<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obviate image defects, such as image fogging, the degradation in image densities, unequalness and longitudinal stripes, by using a rigid member which is planar and one side of which is brought into pressurized contact with the surface of a developer roller as a regulating means for forming the thin layer of toners on the surface of a developing roller and using specific toners. SOLUTION: The thin layers of the toners formed on the surface of the developing roller 11 is brought into contact with the electrostatic latent image formed on the surface of a photoreceptor 2 to develop the electrostatic latent image to a toner image. At this time, the rigid member 12 which is planar and one side of which is brought into pressurized contact with the surface of the developer roller 11 is used as the regulating means for forming the thin layer of the toners on the surface of the developing roller 11 by regulating the amt. of the toners held on the surface of the developing roller 11. The toners of which the mean value of the shape irregularity determined by the equation: shape irregularity = (min. diameter)/(max. diameter) from the min. diameters and max. diameters of the individual toners is in a range from 0.5 to 0.8 and the piece ratio of the toners having the shape irregularity of <=0.2 is <=20piece% are used as the toners.</p> |
