摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a visually excellent reproducing image even when a correction disable bit error is intruded in the image by applying smoothing processing to a predicted image when the predicted image is included in a contaminated area. SOLUTION: A motion vector selection section 14 selects a motion vector (final motion vector) considered to express most properly a motion of a macro block based on a motion vector 12 and in-image position information 11 of a macro block being processed among outputs from a variable length decoding section 2 and provides an output of the selected vector. Furthermore, a contaminated area discrimination section 16 references the final motion vector and an error flag 8 to discriminate whether or not a predicted image is contaminated. Then a loop filter section 20 being a low pass filter applies filtering to image data read from a frame memory 19 upon the receipt of a notice from an OR gate 40. When the predicted image is included in the contaminated area, smoothing processing is applied to the predicted image.</p>
