PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer layer with always uniform charge amount and particle size on the surface of a developing roll without causing excessive charge amount and smaller particle size of developer on the surface of the developing roll. SOLUTION: A developing roll 11 to carry deposited one-component developer 7 to a layer thickness restriction area in a space to a layer thickness restricting member 9 and a development area Q2 nearly opposed to an image carrier 1 in sequence has the developing roll surface, where a small highly charged area 17b for the one-component developer 7 to be easily charged and a small non- charged area 17a for the one-component developer 7 to be hardly charged are densily mixed together and opposed when it is put in frictional contact with the one-component developer 7. |
