PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect the residual amount of the developer by a simple and inexpensive method by supporting a detecting member whose detection surface is tiltable by a supporting member to support the detecting member to detect the residual amount of the developer. SOLUTION: Presence/absence of the toner stored in a toner chamber is detected by a magnetic bridge sensor 20. When a sensor holder 21 to hold the magnetic bridge sensor 20 is fitted to a body, the center of revolution part 21g of the sensor holder 21 is turnably supported by the body, and an abutting rib 21f2 provided on a press plate part 21f is abutted on a wall in a body to surely deform the press plate part 21f and generate the pressing force against a developing wall member 12b. The magnetic bridge sensor 20 is held using the sensor holder 21 to tiltably support the detection surface of the sensor 20, in particular, in a tiltable manner in an arbitrary direction of 360 deg.. Variance of the sensor output due to the play associated with fitting of the sensor 20 or attachment/detachment of a cartridge can be prevented using it. |
