The lock (10) has a casing (12) in with a handle (70) which causes the movement of two bolts (16,18) via a mechanism which has two opposed sliders (64,68) connected for translational movement to the bolts. Between the slides is a return drive (72) engaged by the handle which is mounted for rotation around a transverse axis (A1) with respect to the casing. The return drive has a plate (76) driven for rotation by the handle on which articulates the first ends (88,90) of two opposed links (84,86) of which the other ends are engaged with the slides.
