PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery using a carbon material for a negative pole having a high electric capacity, a long cycle life, and proper charging and discharging efficiency. SOLUTION: In a secondary battery having at least a negative pole 101, a separator 103, a positive pole 102, an electrolyte 103, an electric connecting electrode, and a battery housing 104 and utilizing intercalation reaction and deintercalation reaction for charging and discharging, a host material constituting the nagative pole 101 and intercalating a lithium ion during charging has two or more peaks when 2θ=22 to 27 degrees based on a (002) face in a chart obtained by means of X-ray wide range diffraction of CuK α-ray. And, this secondary battery consists of a carbon material in which a crystal part with its developed graphite structure and a non-crystal part with its undeveloped graphite structure coexist. |
