摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength multiplexed optical communication monitoring method capable of transmitting the monitoring signal of an individual optical path and monitoring a communication network in a whole-network-state transmission path. SOLUTION: A wavelength path monitoring signal which is transmitted with a main signal is added and a wavelength path + wavelength path monitoring signal 122 is transmitted between the wavelength pass terminal end points which are set between two optional optical communication nodes 101 and 102. A wavelength multiplex link and optical communication node monitoring signal 131 is transmitted between the terminal end points of the optical communication nodes 101 and 102 at the both ends of a wavelength multiplex link 111. Wavelength multiplex link and repeater monitoring signals 141 and 142 are transmitted between the terminal end points of the optical communication node 101 and a repeater 104. Moreover, in the optical communication node where the wavelength path passes, controllers 181 and 182, etc., hold the reading of the monitoring signals so that the monitorings of the optical path, the optical communication node, the wavelength multiplex link and the repeater are combined so as to monitor the communication network.
