<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability by concentrating the movement of a ball to one point of a top and simultaneously detecting the positions of X and Y. SOLUTION: The ball 1 to which a magnetic or light signal is recorded is installed on a part which abuts on a pen tip. A sensor 3 exists at the back of the ball 1. The ball 1 can freely be rotated against a holding mechanism 2 holding a position relation with the sensor 3. The holding mechanism 2 can slide in a shaft 2 and a touch switch 4 exists at the back. The device can be turned on/off by pressure added to the ball 1 with the touch switch 4. A circuit substrate 6 for a signal processing exists in the back part of the shaft 5. A cable 7 is not required in the case of a cordless device. The form of the pen is made to be that to which the man is accustomed, and the moving direction of the ball at the pen tip can precisely be detected regardlessly of a grasping angle.</p> |
