<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the input device for a relative manipulated variable which eliminates a break of operation even when the depression surface of a tablet sheet is narrow and removes restrictions from the depression range of an operation button. SOLUTION: A depression projection 35 which projects slightly from the bottom surface 34 of the periphery of the bottom surface 34 of an operation button 31 which has a downward projecting curved surface is provided vertically at the center part of the bottom surface 34. The lower part of the center part of the operation button 31 is always pressed first whichever position of the operation button 31 is pressed, so a position which is at a sufficient distance from a reference position (x0 , y0 ) as the first depression position can be set as a new depression position (xn , yn ) whichever direction the button is slanted in. A cursor can be controlled according to relative movement data based upon the difference between the reference position (x0 , y0 ) and the depression position (xn , yn ), so the cursor continuously moves only by pressing the same position, and relative movement data indicating any direction can be generated, so that the moving direction and moving direction of the cursor can be controlled without any hindrance.</p> |
