PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the storing method of a ROM which can store data with small memory capacity and easily obtain restored data from there. SOLUTION: Five kind of formats TYPE1-TYPE5 are used as the format of data stored in the ROM. Data which are read first at a ROM access request from a CPU are processed as one of the TYPE1-TYPE3 and data which are read thereafter are processed as the TYPE4 or TYPE5. Bits 31 of the TYPE1- TYPE3 indicate whether or not data are compressed data and bits 30 show whether or not there is a link address. For the compressed data, data which are read thereafter are processed as the TYPE4 and in other cases, the data are processed as data which are not compressed as shown by the TYPE5. |
