PRODUCTION OF PHOTOSENSITIVE PRINTING PLATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a photosensitive printing plate not repelling ink and ensuring satisfactory reproducibility of a printed image by removing the unexposed part of the photosensitive original plate with an aq. developer so that a relief is formed. SOLUTION: The rear side of a photosensitive original plate is exposed using a UV exposure system so that the thickness of a cured layer is regulated to about 1.5mm. A polyester film on the unexposed side is peeled, a negative film for evaluating reproducibility is brought into contact with the disclosed surface and this surface is exposed using the UV exposure system for 15min. The negative film is peeled and the unexposed part is removed with an aq. soln. of polyoxyethylene nonyl phenyl ether having 2% concn. at 50 deg.C. Ion exchanged water as an aq. rinse is then jetted on the original plate through a jet nozzle, the original plate is dried by blowing air with a fan and the surface removed the unexposed part is re-exposed using the UV exposure system for 10min to form a relief image. The objective printing plate is obtd.
