摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make charging and discharging reaction of an alloy uniform and obtain a battery with its superior cycle service life characteristics by adjusting the particle distribution of a hydrogen storage alloy after a metal hydride storage battery has been charged and discharged so as to meet specific conditions. SOLUTION: After a metal hydride storage battery has been charged and discharged once or more, the particle distribution of the hydrogen storage alloy of an electrode is adjusted so as to meet (y/x)<0.90, where x denotes the average particulate and y denotes the standard deviation. The particulate distribution is adjusted by means of a method for adjusting an activation method or performing thermal treatment, or a combination thereof or the like. By this treatment, the particle distribution of alloy is sharpened and a battery with its proper cycle characteristics can be obtained. It is preferable that the hydrogen storage alloy to be used is fabricated by mans of a rapidly solidifying method and is heat-treated.
