<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make possible efficiently retrieving when a target position is close to a present position. SOLUTION: When the target position is within three minutes or below as a recording time for the present position at a retrieval time, a capstan speed is made to be a CUE speed, and a tape is traveled. Then, when the ABSTRNO (absolute track number) of the target position is reproduced from the tape by a reproducing system, the tape traveling is stopped. In such a case, since the tape traveling is stopped instantly from time CUE speed, the tape is stopped within the allowable range of the target position, and search drive operation is eliminated.</p> |
