<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device in which atoms of a sputtered getter material do not cause degradation of image-display performance, the degree of vacuum in an airtight container is good, and unevenness of screen brightness is small. SOLUTION: In an airtight container used with the inside evacuated, at least a phosphor 106 and a phosphor excitation source are provided. As a pump for eliminating unnecessary gas molecules in the airtight container, an anode 114, cathodes 113, 115 made of a chemically active metal called a getter that easily combines with the gas molecules, and a magnetic circuit 116 for producing a static magnetic field are provided.</p> |
