PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the whole processing time and a device occupying time by compressing a word and a retrieving result, reading and expanding compressed data in a unit of pages, generating output data and processing a next original before outputting the data to a recording paper. SOLUTION: Original data of a first sheet is read from an image scanner, and an OCR processing part 201 reads a character from inputted data and recognizes a word to store the recognized word. Next, based on the stored word, a dictionary retrieving part 202 retrieves the equivalent of the word and stores the result in a memory 208. Next, the recognized word stored in a memory 207 and the dictionary retrieving result stored in the memory 208 are compressed by a compressing/expanding part 204 and the compressed recognized word and dictionary retrieving result are stored in HDD 206. Continually the data stored in HDD 206 are expanded by the compressing/expanding part 204, plotted by a plotting part 205, outputted as output picture data and the processing is finished. |
