摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an optical thin film of required thickness by adhering an optical thin plate having different refractive index from that of an optical substrate to at least one surface of the substrate and grinding the optical thin plate to obtain a specified thickness. SOLUTION: An optical thin film substrate 3 is adhered with an adhesive 2 which transmits electromagnetic waves to be used to an optical substrate 1, and the surface of the optical thin film substrate 3 is optically ground while controlling its thickness. After a single layer optical thin film 3' is produced, an optical thin film substrate 4 having a different refractive index for electromagnetic waves from that of the optical thin film substrate 3 is adhered with an adhesive 2 which transmits electromagnetic waves to be used to the surface of the obtd. optical thin film 3'. The surface of the substrate 4 is again optically ground while controlling the thickness to obtain a two-layer optical thin film 3'. By repeating this procedure, a multilayered optical thin film 3' can be formed on the optical substrate 1. Thereby, an optical thin film comprising such members that can not be formed by vacuum vapor deposition can be obtd.
