<p>A device comprises a flexible printed circuit (11) on a limb of which an electrical element (19), typically containing one or more electrical components in a potting compound, is arranged such that the element (19) is intersected by the plane of the printed circuit (11), the circuit and element being embedded in a protective material. The invention is particularly applicable to plastic cards as it enables the thickness of the card to be minimized by lowering the comparatively thick element relative to the plane of the printed circuit which it is desired remains at the center of the card to minimize stress on it when the card is bent.</p> |
