PURPOSE:To prevent generation of contamination in the rack and roller parts in a developing process tank of an automatic developing machine even if the amt. of processing and the rate of renewal are low by subjecting a silver halide photographic sensitive material to a developing process in the presence of branched cyclodextrin and/or cyclodextrin polymer after imagewise exposing. CONSTITUTION:After the photosensitive material is subjected to imagewise exposing, the material is subjected to the developing process in the presence of the branched cyclodextrin and/or cyclodextrin polymer. The branched cyclodextrin to be more preferably used includes alpha-cyclodextrin bonded with maltose in one molecule, beta-cyclodextrin bonded with maltose in one molecule, etc. The cyclodextrin polymer to be used is preferably the polymer expressed by formula I and is produced by crosslinking the cyclodextrin by, for example, epichlorohydrin to a high polymer. |
