A multi-roll coating and laminating calender for the production of composite bands is disclosed. The said calender can be used both as a coating calender for the production of a plastic film, which is subsequently laminated on the calender with further bands, and as a pure laminating calender for a laminating operation. By designing the final roll of the calender as a fixed roll and the arrangement of this roll together with a preceding heating-up or pre-heating roll and a following laminating roll approximately on the plane of the common longitudinal centre axes of these three rolls, a calender system of a considerably simplified design is achieved, which can be used as a laminating system or alternatively as a coating and laminating system.
