A printhead structure is provided wherein no adhesive layer is present between the plastic film and the metal layer(s) and wherein the metal layer is directly superimposed on a catalyst layer comprising a metal selected from the group consisting of Cu, Ag, Au, Fe, Ru, Os, Co, Rh, Ir, Ni, Pd and Pt. Methods for manufacturing such printhead structure and a DEP (Direct Electrostatic Printing) device using such a printhead structure are also provided. <IMAGE>
