PURPOSE:To obtain 1,3-dihydroxy-8-decene-5-one having immunoactivating action and anticancer effect to normal animal, by culturing a microbial cell belonging to Strepomyces cirratus and having specific producing ability. CONSTITUTION:A microbial cell strain belonging to Streptomyces cirratus and having ability capable of producing 1,3-dihydroxy-8-decene-5-one is planted in S culture medium consisting of a composition of galactose, dextrin, bactosoyton, etc., and cultured to afford a culture medium. Then a colorless and physiologically active sbustance is collected from the culture medium to provide the aimed 1,3-dihydroxy-8-decene-5-one. |
