<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to attain the compatibility of a low spring constant with high strength and to additionally increase the carry of a ball when the ball is hit at the same head speed by constituting a face part by integrally bonding only the peripheral edges of plural plate materials to the main body of a head. SOLUTION: The head 1 is formed of a head body 2 formed to a cup shape and the face 3 having a three-layered structure composed of an outside surface layer, inside surface layer and intermediate layer. The face 3 is integrally fixed to the opening of the head body 2 by adhering or welding of only the peripheral edges thereof in the form of providing the outside plate 3a of the outside surface layer and the inside plate 3b of the inside surface layer with a cavity 3c of the intermediate layer between the opposite surfaces. The face 3 is composed of the multilayered structure to allow the slippery transfer with each other in such a manner and, therefore, the required breaking strength is assured and the degradation of the spring rigidity is possible. Then, the face 3 deflects in two stages at the time of the collision of the ball against the head 1. The shock at the time of impact is thus relieved without decreasing the energy applied on the ball.</p> |
